Bumrah, Jadeja & Co celebrated 1 year of India’s T20 World Cup win

Team India, who is currently in Birmingham, celebrated one year anniversary of the team winning T20 World Cup

India cricket team stars celebrated the one year anniversary of Rohit Sharma and co. lifting the T20 World Cup in 2024 on Sunday in Birmingham. On June 29. 2024, the Men in Blue ended their 13-year-wait to lift an ICC trophy by beating South Africa in the final to win their 2nd T20 WC title. All members of the current Test side were a part of the celebrations at the team hotel on Sunday.

BCCI took to social media platform X to upload a video of Indian cricketers cutting two cakes to mark the occasion. Several stars, who were also a part of the victorious campaign such as Jasprit Bumrah, Mohammed Siraj, Ravindra Jadeja, Rishabh Pant among others were a part of the celebration. Chants of Siraj’s famous “I only believe in Jassi bhai” echoed as the speedster cut the cake.

Meanwhile, Pant attempted to pull Jadeja’s leg, saying that it was one year since he retired. To this, the all-rounder wittily replied, “I have only retired from one format.”

India defeated South Africa by 7 runs to win what was a nail-biting contest.Virat Kohli top-scored in the contest with a matured 76-run knock while also stitching a crucial partnership with Axar Patel (46) after loss of early wickets. Eventually, it was a Bumrah masterclass and Suryakumar Yadav stunned that helped India snatch victory from the jaws of the Proteas.

Following the contest, the trio of Rohit Sharma, Virat and Jadeja announced their retirement from T20Is. Bumrah was named the Player of the Series.
