Britney helps to defeat mysticists in the Cyx opener

Brittany Cyx produced a team-high 22 points and five assistance, helping Washington Mistics lead the 94-90 season-opening win on the visiting Atlanta Dream on Atlanta Dream on Friday.

Ruki Sonia Citron added 19 points to Washington, while Ruki Kiki Irifen placed 14 and Sug Sutton placed 13. Z Melbourne scored 11 runs from the bench for Mistics, winning Sydney Johnson’s coaching debut.

Atlanta had 25 points, eight rebounds and seven assistance for Atlanta, while Britney Grinner added 18 points and eight boards. Broni Jones received 16 points, 10 rebounds and five assistance. Rhine Howard had 11 points and Nia Coffee was pasted in 10.

Leaving 87–79 behind with less than three minutes, Atlanta enhances 8–1 speed-was stamped with three-point plays of gray, which draws the dream within a point at 1:20 points. Cyx then hit a pair of free throw and Jones divided two foul shots. After Stephanie Dolason’s Miss, Grinner’s jumper tied the game with 34 seconds.

Below four in Halftime, Washington opened the third quarter for 14–7 runs and took a 55-52 lead with 6:34 remaining on the 3-pointer of Citron.

Atlanta then scored Washington for about four minutes, and caught a 59–57 lead over the shutori walker-cimbro basket. Iriafen’s mid-range jumper, after tying the game, Jones’ Leup and Gray’s sixth 3-pointer gave the dream a 66-61 lead.

Washington shut down the quarter for 10–4 runs, entering the fourth with a lead of 71–70 in the finishing second of Dolson.

From there, Mistics opened the last quarter for 9–2 runs, holding the dream without a basket, until the criner trimmed at the 6:11 mark. Sutton’s 3-Pinter brought Washington’s lead to 80–72, before the grainer’s back-to-back leps made Atlanta’s deficit to four.

Dolson then hit a 3-pointer and Grinner responded with a three-point play with a washington lead, with 3:28 left. The basket of Cyx and Citron increased the lead with 2:48 to eight.

After gaining a 24–20 lead, Dream started the second on 12–4 runs and took a 36–24 lead with 7:30 remaining.

Washington replied with a 10–0 spirt-the triples of the mailburn and Emily Angestler. Sutton’s paste with 1:19 helped Jones’s free throw and gray’s 3-pointer to take the dream 45-41 Haftime-Leid.
