Brian Reynolds scored a three-run domestic runs and Alexander Carnerio hit two couples to lead the host Pittsburgh Pirates on New York Mets on Friday night in a three-game series opener.
In his ninth-sixth innings of the 402-foot run-season of the Renolds, Mates Reluver Blade Tidwell made it 9–1 pires, which stopped two-market skids and won the third time in five matches.
The necklace broke the two-game winning streak for Mets and had his 11th defeat in the last 14 matches.
The Pirates jumped ahead with four runs in the second off-mets starter David Peterson (5-4). Jred Triolo doubled the single, the canearo and Isia Kenner-Falfa (two hit) did a single to drive in a run app, then the Tommy Fam went to a groundout in fourth place.
Peterson conceded five runs on seven hits and three walks, while 4 came out of five in innings.
Kiner-Falefa, Ke’Bryan Hayes and Andrew McCutchen made two hits in each for Pittsburgh.
Juan Soto received Mets on board in fourth to cut their deficit 4–1 with their 20th Home Run of the Season of the Pirates starter Mich Keller (2-10).
Keller will not surrender to any more runs, registering her first win since March 28. He played 5 1/3 innings, allowing a walk with five hits and a four strikes.
Brett Batty posted two hits for New York.
Brandon Nimmo was killed in the eighth with a pitch on the left wrist from Reluver Genesis Cabarera, but remained in the game. Cabarera started his team, with a 1 1/3 shutout innings with a strike.
