Braves set to set to face Ronald Akuna Junior

Ronald Ekuna Junior will return from knee surgery, which has been excluded for about a year when Atlanta Braves opened a three-game series against San Diego Padress.

Atlanta manager Brian Snightker said, “It would be good, he feels ready and it’s great.” “It would be great to bring him back into a lineup.”

Acuna tore the anterior cruciate ligament of her left knee on May 26, 2024, and underwent surgery after less than two weeks.

This year, in six modest league rehab games, one in Class-A and five in Triple-A, Ekuna batted with two home runs and two couples .400 (6-for-15). Ekuna was the 2023 National League MVP after hitting .337 with 41 Homeers, 106 RBI and 73 stolen bases. He led the league in theft, hits (217), on-base percentage (.416) and OPS (1.012).

Padres have lost in six consecutive and three-game are coming out of the sweep in Toronto. In Washington, the brave was swept away in the rain-less two-game chain.

This is the second season meeting between the teams. Host San Diego landed Atlanta in a four-game set to open the season, sent the brave to 0-7. Padress started 7–0.

Friday’s pitching match is the Atlanta Left-Hander Chris Sale (2-3, 3.62 ERA) and San Diego right-handed Nick Piwata (5-2, 2.86).
