Brant Snedekar, Geoff Ogilvi nominated the President’s Cup captain

American Brant Snedekar and Australia’s Geoff Ogilvi were named Captain for the 2026 President Cup at Medinah Country Club outside Chicago on Tuesday.
44-year-old Snedekar participated in a biennial competition in American golfers against a non-European international roster in 2013 and also served as an assistant to a captain in 2024.
Sneedkar said in a statement, “This is a tremendous honor by my colleagues to be the captain of the US team for the 2026 Presidents Cup, and I am eager to lead my people in Medinah, which will definitely be a wonderful week of golf.” “Representing my country in the team competition has been an attraction of my PGA Tour Career, and I will be bent over the experiences to ensure that we are ready and which I know is ready to compete against an integrated and determined international team.”
The 16th Presidents Cup will be held from 22-27, 2026 from September in course number 3 of Medina. The American event is from 13–1-1, including the 18 1/2 to 11 1/12 win at the Royal Montreal Golf Club in Canada in 2024.
47 -year -old Ogilvi competed for the international teams in 2007, 2009 and 2011 and has been an assistant captain in each of the last four events. His design firms oversee the renewal of Medina’s number 3 in 2022 and 2023.
Ogilvi said in a statement, “Since Erny Els started The Shield in 2019, the spirit of the international team has intensified and increased because we have ralled around this symbol that symbolizes our shared ambition and unite both players and fans,” Ogilvi said in a statement. “I intend to pursue that speed, such as the captains before me, for our international players and to create strong support in the entire program.”
The international team won its only President Cup in Australia in 1998 and ended in a draw in South Africa in 2003. The US has swept away the last 10 meetings.
