Seattle, who qualified for the tournament by winning the 2022 ConcacAF Champions League, was denied the target of tying a four -minute stops in the last second of the time when John saved an attempt by Pedro de la Vega.
On Thursday, the Seattle Astletico plays the second of its three group-phase matches against Madrid, while Botfogo, Pasadeena, meets Paris St.-Germen in California.

The first target was installed by Artur of Botafogo in a yellow card foul outside the box and some yards to the right of the target. This was an ideal place for the tales pinpoint, the left-foot cross.
Jesus was a beneficiary of a service from the right flank by Vitinho, as it was made 2–0 as the goalkeeper Stephen Free was caught bowing towards the left post as the ball went away from Jesus.
The sounders finally came around the hour mark when Albert Russian’s shot was saved by John, before Jackson Ragon gave a luxurious open look directly, but was wrong to the right.
It took some luck but Rolden cut the deficit in half when his diving header was distanced away from Jesus and the previous John.
Seattle led 23–12 in the shot efforts, but Botfogo had six of the 11 shots in the goal.
