Boston Legacy FC nominated Philipa Pato as the first head coach of the NWSL Extension Club.
Patao, 36, gave coaching to Benafika from 2020-25 in her original Portugal, in which 156–28–15 records were set in all competitions.
He took Benfika to five consecutive league titles and was nominated for Ballon D’Or Coach of the Year in 2024.
Patao will join Boston in July. Once her visa will be approved to start preparations for the start of 2026 of the club.
