London: The Cricket Board of India (BCCI) has expressed its reservation about the meeting of the Asian Cricket Council (ACC) in Dhaka in the last week of the Asia Cup in the last week of Asia. The BCCI would not want the Indian team to sit in vain for two-three months.” Although the BCCI is expected to maintain hosting rights for the Asia Cup, it is waiting for the government’s node before finalizing the logistics of the tournament, which is to be played in the T20 format. The official said, “The UAE has already been reduced to zero as a site for the Asia Cup. But the issue here is whether India should play Pakistan. The UAE was confirmed just before the terrorist attack in Pahgam on 22 April.” The official said, “The government has given green lights to host Pakistan hockey teams this year, but cricket is a separate equation. If the ACC does not pay attention, the BCCI can also pull out of the Asia Cup,” the official said.
