Famous batsman Sunil Gavaskar urged the BCCI to the remaining 17 matches without cheerleaders and DJs with the set to resume on Saturday, May 17 with the Indian Premier League (IPL). According to a report, the BCCI is now seriously considering the suggestion made by Gavaskar. The IPL 2025 was suspended for a week on May 8 for a week amid cross tension with Pakistan after a terrorist attack in Jammu and Kashmir’s Pahgam. The heinous attack claimed the lives of 26 citizens.

Today, according to a report in India, the BCCI will soon call on staging the remainder of IPL 2025 without entertainment and glamor.

The report said that the Indian Cricket Board will take a decision after Sunil Gavaskar staging the remaining 17 matches without cheerleaders and DJs from BCCI.

As a gesture for those who died during the Pahalgam attack, Gavaskar felt that the remaining IPL 2025 matches should not have any entertainment (apart from performance).

“What would I really like to see, these are the last few matches. I think we had about 60 games or an over.

“Let’s just a tournament, balance a tournament. Any dance girls, nothing. Just cricket would be a very good way to respect the spirit of those families who have lost their close and dear people.”

It is worth indicating that during the match between Sunrisers Hyderabad and Mumbai Indians, the players of both teams donated black armband to mourn the victims, while there was no cheerleaders and fireworks.

The players also saw a minute’s silence to pay their honors to the people affected by the international condemnation incident.
