BCCI-CSA talks failed, 8 WTC final-bound to South African players to leave IPL 2025 playoffs

Mumbai Indians have received a triple shock after league stage with both Ryan Recognutton and Corbin Bosch. As will also leave Jack, it will eliminate Mi’s line-up if they qualify for IPL 2025 playoffs.

In a major setback for IPL 2025, all eight South African players who are part of the squad for the WTC final 2025 will recall the playoffs. The Control Board for Cricket in India (BCCI) was negotiating an extension for the players as NOC ending on 25 May. While BCCI managed to expand its stay for the league stage, Kagiso Rabada and Aiden Markram would be liked on May 28 after the league stage is over.

South Africa to Warm up for WTC Final 2025 in Zimbabwe in the four -day Test match starting on May 30, which begins at Lord’s on 11 June. Of the eight players, seven are still in the playoff race for their teams. Only Sunrisers Hyderabad have been dropped, on 25 May, Vian Mulder played his last league match.

“The initial agreement with IPL and BCCI was with the final on May 25, our players will return to 26th to give them enough time before flying on 30th. Nothing has changed from our point of view,” Conrad told the media on Tuesday.

  • Vian Mulder (Sunrisers Hyderabad) – Available till 25 May
  • Ryan Ricelton (Mumbai Indians) – available till 26 May
  • Corbin Bosch (Mumbai Indians) – available till 26 May

Triple Blow for Mumbai Indians

In addition to Corbin Bosch, with Ryan Reclon in fine form, this is a double blow for Mumbai Indians. Both Recleton and Bosch are part of the WTC squad. In addition to the protein pair, Mi will also recall Jack, which will leave after the league stage for the England series against the West Indies.

Reclon is MI’s second largest scorer with 336 runs in 12 matches. He has also scored three half -centuries. Bosch scored 47 runs in two matches and took a wicket. As the recruit will not be available, MI will need to play a wicket-keeper. Robin Minz or KL Sreejith is likely to get an opportunity if Mi makes a playoffs.

Jack will also be unavailable even after 26 May, MI will have to rebuild the top order. Jack scored 195 runs in 9 innings at an average of 24.38 on an average. But even more importantly, he took five wickets. Bewon Jacobs could play in its place, but Mumbai would need an off-spinner.

Trouble for RCB

Royal Challengers Bangalore, who are away from qualifying for IPL playoffs, are also in trouble. Josh Hazlewood will also have to leave the Logi cash after the RCB’s final league match on 27 May, with the possibility of a shoulder injury and the playoffs.

RCB’s bowling attack will be severely affected in the absence of both Hazelwood and NGIDI. In addition, they will also recall the services of Romeroo Shepherd in the playoffs.
