The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) is involved in “active and ongoing discussion” with the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) about its scheduled white-ball tour in the country this month. It comes amid increasing tension between India and Pakistan. Bangladesh is scheduled to compete in five T20 series against Pakistan in Lahore and Faisalbad from 21 May, but Indo-Pak tension has raised doubts over the series according to ESPNcricinfo. In a statement, the BCB said, “BCB wants to repeat that its players and assistant employees remain the highest priority of the board,” an official statement on Saturday stated, as quoted by ESPNCRICINFO.

The statement said, “All decisions related to the tour will be made with careful consideration of the current situation in Pakistan, ensuring that they align with the best interests of the team and Bangladesh cricket.”

The Bangladesh team will travel to Dubai to play the United Arab Emirates (UAE) in two T20I later this week.

Bangladesh players Rishad Hussain and Nishad Rana, who were participating in the Pakistan Super League (PSL), now returned home on Friday.

Rishad (Team Lahore Kalander) and Rana (Peshawar Zalmi) arrived in Dhaka on Friday and will leave for the UAE with the remaining part of the Bangladesh squad. If the PSL resumes soon, it is unlikely that the pair will return to the tournament, taking into account Bangladesh’s upcoming international commitments.
