Belly Falter threw seven shutouts and Brian Reynolds ran into a loan run, as hosts Pittsburg Pirates won 1–0 over Cincinnati Reds on Tuesday night.

The Pirates abolished the four-game losing streak, ending the Rades winning streak. Pittsburgh recorded its fifth shutout and defeated Cincinnati for the first time this year to defeat Cincinnati, leveling the current three-game series with a win. Reds was evacuated for the eighth time.

Falter (3-3) allowed four hits and hit five in his 79-pitch outing. He did not continue a walk after completing his most recent beginning with a career-high-tie-five walk. This was the first time in his career when he played seven or more innings without a batsman.

Pirates Reluver David Bedner gave a leadoff single at the top of the ninth after the 10-picha at-bate by TJ Freedle, which led the Reds with two hits. However, the Santiago Aspinal entered a double play, and Bedner retired Eli de la cruise on a flyout to pick up his fourth sev.

Falter has gone 16 2/3 innings without one run permission. Since his ERA increased to 8.10 after a difficult start on 5 April against New York Yankis, Falter has reduced it to 3.50 in its last eight outings. Falter did not allow a run in a beginning, which lasted for the third time in this season for six or more innings.

Falter dropped the Reds Starter Nick Martinez (2-5), who scored four hits and two runs on three hits, while out of three scored two runs in six innings.

In the sixth innings, RBI Single of Reynolds scored to score Onil Cruise. Cruise arrived on a walk and then moved to second place on the basis of his second theft of the night, his National League-Lending 18th season.

Fraudal led the game with Triple on the fourth pitch, but Falter proceeded to retire the aspinal on a ground out, de la cruise on a strike and Austin Hauz on a popout.

The Aspinal doubled to move ahead from the top of the fourth, but the falter was recovered again and retired the next three batsmen in order.

Spenser Horvitz had two hits and walking for Pittsburgh.
