Just hours after the IPL 2025 ended, Cricket Australia on Wednesday named its squad for the upcoming T20I series vs. West Indies. In particular, some league stars were ignored for selection. DC’s Jake Fraser-Makegurk, who showed poor form, has been dropped from the team. Instead, Mitchell Owen and Matt Kunmann were liked.

Going forward, PBKS players Javier Bartlet and Marcus Stoinis were also released. As far as McGark is concerned, he played in the last seven matches, he scored only one fifty, and the rest of them have failed to cross 20. On the other hand, Owen, BBL ended as the highest run-goldter, 452 scores in 11 innings, on an average of 45.20.

In the final, he slammed a ton of just 42 delivery, so that the Hobart storm could also be guided for a title. Meanwhile, Mitchell Marsh will lead the team, who had a stellar IPL for LSG, where he scored 627 runs in 13 matches. Glenn Maxwell, who was poor in the tournament, gets a chance, and so Tim David was injured, who did not play in the finals.

Interestingly, Cameron Green and Josh Hazlewood returns to the T20I team. Hazel had a stellar season for RCB, and helped the team win the title with their 22 wickets. The series begins on 19 July.

George Bailey, president of the selectors, said, “We have a busy T20 schedule through this series, followed by three against South Africa and New Zealand and five matches against India at home because we continue to refine and make a squad, we think we think the subcontinent will fit for the World Cup.” “There are many players outside the team that can still force their way into the mixture for those upcoming Indian series and through Big Bash.

He said, “We will have options in the form of connections, role development and combinations because we build the World Cup. This is an exciting time in our T20 space.”
