ATP Roundup: Rally Opelka Bag upset in Netherlands

Reeli Opelka hammered 24 aces and knocked Russia’s top seed Daniel Medvedev on 7-6 (5), 7-6 (5) on Friday, so that ‘S-Hartogenbosh, Libima could move forward in the Open semi-finals in the Netherlands.
Medvedev took a 4–1 lead in the tiebreak of the second set before self-destruction with three consecutive double defects to complete an hour, 36-minute match. Opelka will face the unsecured Belgium Zizau Bergs, who kept the Estonian Mark Lajal away from 7-6 (2), 7-6 (4).
Other French Grass-Cort semi-final pit number 2 seed Ugo Hambert against Canada’s Gabriel Dialo. Hambert required only 67 minutes to fulfill the 6–1, 6-4 victory over Nuno Borges in Portugal, while Dialo harassed the third seed Russian Karen Khachanov’s 6–4 in its second ATP tour semi-final.
Boss open
Under the leadership of Number 1 Alexander Zverev, the top four seeds were upgraded to the semi-finals, with a direct win in the quarter-finals in Stutgart, Germany.
Home favorite Zeverev rescued both brake points in winning 7-5, 6-4 against Brandon Nakashima and faced 6-4, 6-4 winners, number 3 Seed Ben Shelton on Czech Jiri Leheka. Shelton fired 18 aces and guaranteed a place in the top 10 for the first time in Monday’s ranking with a win.
Shelton’s partner American, number 2 Taylor Fritz, will meet Canada’s No. 4 Felix Ogar-Aliasim in other semi-finals. Fritz fired 12 aces in a 6-3, 6-4 win over Hungary’s Marten Fukasovics, while Ogar-Aliasim finished 17-year-old German Justin Engel’s 7-6 (3), 6-3 with a memorable run with 6-3 victory.
