ATP Roundup: Fritz, Shelton Reich Stutgart Quarter Final

Number 2 Seed Taylor Fritz and Fellow American and No. 3 Seed Ben Shelton won in straight sets on Wednesday, which reached the open quarter -finals in Germany Stuttgart.

Fritz hit 12 aces and won the only service break of the match 6-3, 7-6 (6) against Quentin Hali of France. The next Hungarian is Marton Fukasovics, a 7-6 (4), 6-3 winners on the French Arthur Rinderken.

Shelton rescued four brake points in the second set before closing 7-6 (4), winning 7–5 over France’s Pierre-Hughes Herbert. In the final eight, his rival will be eighth seeded check Jeri Leheka, who won 6-4, 7-5 against Germany’s life-long stuff.

Poland’s fifth seed Hubert Harkak crossed a middle-match injury to defeat 6-4 in Spain’s Roberto Botista Egut 7-6 (2), 6-4 ‘S-Hartogenbosh, Netherlands.

Harkack fired 16 aces and won 90 percent marks on his first serve, but a medical timeout was needed during the second set. His second round of rival Estonian qualifiers and world number 195 Mark Lazal, who harassed Serbia’s Laslo Dizre 6-2, 6-4.

Russia’s No. 3 Seed Karen Khachanov left McKenzie McDonald 6-3, 5-7, 7-6 (4). Gabriel Dialo of Canada saved two match points from Australia’s number 6 Jordan Thompson 4-6, 6-1, 7-5. Britain’s Daniel Evans and France’s Adrian Mannarino also advanced.
