Houston Astro is receiving unhappy injury updates on a daily basis, but did not prevent him from winning.
Houston made a three-game series opener on Tuesday night with his impressive 19-win win against Colorado Rockies.
Astros will try to create two directly against Rockies on Wednesday night when they send the right-handed Hunter Brown (8-3, 1.74 ERA) on the mound against Colorado left-handed Austin Gumber (0–1, 6.14).
However, not all reports are good for Houston. Shortstop Jeremy Penna went into the wounded list with a rib fracture and the resurrection of Sligan Yordon Alverages was discontinued due to her fractured agony.
This is the second blow for alverages, which is out of May 2. He is scheduled to see a hand specialist.
Astro General Manager Dana Brown said, “It is a hard pill to swallow, but his health is the most important thing here at the end of the day.” “And therefore, we will let him find out that he needs to recover completely. At this point, the team is playing very well. We (17) are more than the game.
Astro has won seven out of its last eight in Wednesday’s game and has sent a Major leader in the ERA against a skeffling Rocky team. Brown has faced Colorado twice in his career, going 1–1 with 3.18 ERA in those outings.
His loss came in his lonely initial in Denver on July 18, 2023, when he gave four runs on six hits in 5 1/3 innings of 4-3 defeat.
The Gombber will start his fourth start of the season after being injured for 60-day due to the agony of the left shoulder. He threw five scorer innings at the beginning of his season in Atlanta on 15 June, but was ruined in his second beginning. Arizona reached him for nine runs in 4 2/3 innings, but on Thursday, he overturned to give just one run in five frames against Los Angeles Dojers. He did not give a figure for the loss of 3–1 losses.
He has faced Houston four times in his career and is 1-3 with 5.55 ERA.
Rockies continued his youth movement with a call from outfielder Yanquol Fernandez on Tuesday. He did not play in an opener against Astro, but when he comes into a game, he will be the ninth colorado player to start his major league this season.
He earned his chance after playing well in Triple-e Albuquerque. He hit a .284 with 13 domestic runs and 39 in 63 matches with isotopes, and his last domestic run was a 473 -foot bomb in Las Vegas on Sunday.
“We are going to give him an opportunity after his hot June, and I look forward to it,” said interim manager Warren Shefefer. “Big power, big arm, good defender. He is only 22 years old. Akash is a boundary for him.”
