Aryana Sabalenka stopped Iga Swetech’s run to reach French finals

Top -order Aryana Sabalenka ended the Dominance Run of IGA Swiatech at the French Open, denied the latter bid for the fourth straightforward title at Rolland Garos on Thursday.

Three-time Grand Slam Champion, Sabalenka snatched the French open-winning 26 matches of 26 matches of Poland origin with a decision of 7-6 (1), 4-6, 6-0 in Paris.

The 27 -year -old Belarus’s 27 -year -old sent Swetek in 2 hours and 19 minutes to become the first woman to reach a single final at three consecutive Grand Slam events since Serena Williams (2016).

Sabalenka will watch his first French Open title on Saturday. She will meet the winner of the other semi-final match on Thursday who will beat the second seed Koko Goff against the 361st ranked French Wild-Card Lois Boison.

“Honestly, it seems incredible, but I think the job has not been done yet. I am thrilled with this victory and atmosphere today,” said Sabalenka. “He is the most difficult rival, especially on the soil, especially in Rolland Garos. Sabalenka took advantage of 12 unexpected errors by Swiatech in the decisive third set.

Swiyatech won its first French Open in 2020 before claiming trophies in 2022, 2023 and 2024. He also won a bronze medal at the 2024 Paris Olympics at Rolland Garos. His French Open record is 40-3.
