Arshdeep vs Khalil vs Dayal: 3-way southwest

India cricket team will consider carrying a good number of pacers as a backup option for the ING vs ENG Test series. Given that Bumrah and Shami are unlikely to play all five tests, men in Blue will need other pace services. To be almost a part of playing almost certainly with Krishna and Siraj, India will probably consider taking a left -handed pace.

Which left-arm pacer will cut?

Arshdeep Singh is an option that India can consider. Punjab Pesar is yet to earn its first Test call-up, although it is a long time. Now for a long time, he is considered only as a white ball bowler. One of the primary reasons he was not considered for the Seema-Gavaskar Trophy was his inexperience to play red-goals.

However, he has 66 wickets out of the 21 first class sports played so far. Arshdeep managed to register his career in the Dalip Trophy last year to register the best figures of 6/40. Talking about his form in IPL 2025, he has already taken 16 wickets. Singh has also shown his ability to swing the ball.

Given the benefit of his height, he can be one of the best options trying to India in England.

Khalil Ahmed is another option that India can use. Like Arshdeep, CSK Pacer has very little red ball experience, but is late in crazy form. Talking about his first class record, he has 52 wickets out of 19 sports, which is an average of 28.34. In IPL 2025, he bowled the most dot balls in the tournament so far – 119. He has also taken 14 wickets.

Once again, like Arshdeep, Khalil’s height can come as a great benefit for India in England.

The third option can be Yash Dayal. Despite earning a rapid alliance contract in 2024, he did not find a call-up for tests, despite being part of the squad on a few occasions. Unlike Khalil and Arshdeep, Dayal does not have the benefit of height.

However, he has a better first -class record than the other two. In 27 matches, he managed to bag 84 wickets and average 28.78. In IPL 2025, he has so far taken 10 wickets out of 11 matches for RCB.
