Aqib Javed was appointed as director of Pakistan’s white-ball team high performance

The director of Cricket Mike Hessen’s former Royal Challengers Bangalore has been declared as Pakistan’s White-Ball Head Coach and Aqib Javed, who held the post on an interim basis, has been appointed as director of high performance on Tuesday. The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) issued a statement to confirm Hessen’s appointment. It read, “After evaluation of several applications received against Hessen Vacancy, it comes to fill the post, which was vacant after the visit of the Pakistan Men’s team for New Zealand in April.”
Hessen is currently the head coach of Islamabad United, who is the defending champion of Pakistan Super League. The 50 -year -old replaced Aqib, who took over for five months on an interim basis after leaving just six months during his tenure.
PCB President Mohsin Naqvi said in a statement, “I am pleased as the white-ball head coach of the Pakistan men’s team, announcing the appointment of former New Zealand cricketer and famous coach Mike Hessen.”
“Mike brings a proven track record of developing international experience and competitive aspects. We are ready to shape the future of Pakistan’s white-ball cricket. They concluded.
Hessen was appointed as the head coach of New Zealand in 2012 and enjoyed six successful years. With Hessen on the rudge, Kiwi emerged as a major force and a storm in his first World Cup final in 2015, which he lost against Australia.
Prior to Hessen’s appointment, Pakistan enjoyed success in the patch under Aqib. He left England’s ‘Bajball’ and won 2–1 home test series. He visited Australia and sealed the victory of a historic 2–1 ODI series, but all separated in the earlier months.
Earlier this year, the Champions Trophy host Pakistan crashed from its party in a group stage after a continuous defeat against New Zealand and India. Pakistan then visited New Zealand and was closed in the T20I series, which they lost 4–1.
In Odis, Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan, who were remarkable in the T20I, failed to roam around the fate of Pakistan as Blackcaps removed the series with a 3–0 win.
NAQVI feels that the appointment of AQIB as director of high performance will strengthen the country’s cricket infrastructure. He sees the appointment of former Pakistan Quick with Hessen as an important step for his “strategic vision” for the nation’s cricket.
“To strengthen our cricket infrastructure, we are happy to welcome Aqib Javed as the director of high performance. His appointment, as a white-ball head coach with Mike Hessen, takes a significant step forward in our strategic vision for Pakistan cricket,” NaqVi said.
