Any IPL or PSL teams are supported by ICC in Rebranded Champions League T20

Like the old franchise, the winners of the concerned franchise league will face each other for the final T20 title.

Earlier this month, it was discovered that the Champions League T20 (CLT20) would be revived under the World Club Championship (WCC). The tournament, in which separate franchise league teams were seen competing against each other, scraped in 2015 due to low ratings.

However, Saudi is trying to compete with cricket boards with steam building through a 6-team event, called Saudi Super Slam, CLT20 is being revived. And it is being supported by the International Cricket Council (ICC).

PCB, PSL Seamless?

The scheme was discussed in world cricket since 2025 last month, the plan was discussed. The CEO of the franchise league was invited, and ICC President J Shah was also there. However, none of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) or Pakistan Super League (PSL) happened.

β€œThe Pakistan Cricket Board was invited to send his CEO of PSL for a meeting held on the edge of the Cricket Connect meeting in London last month, but no one showed. The PCB did not show and strangely, Chairman Mohsin Naqvi has not regularly participated in ICC meetings, ” Sources told PTI.

No IPL team in WCC despite BCCI banking

It takes out a major market. And the largest market, India, will not be there either. No team of the Indian Premier League (IPL) will play in WCC despite the control board control for cricket in India. From what is understood, only 5 teams will play 5 different leagues. And will not be one of the IPL or PSL teams.
