Tampa Bay rays placed the All-Star second Basman Brandon Lowe due to the left oblique tightness on the 10-day Il and called the 1B Currtis Mead back from Triple-A Durham.

Lowe’s move is retrospective till 8 July and when he resumes regular season 18 July, he may return to the lineup when he hosted Baltimore.

Lowe was chosen as an all-star reserve, but would not compete in the middle summer classic. The 31-year-old was also taunted for the all-star game in 2019, which was his second season among the major leagues.

The eight -year -old veteran was enjoying a solid first half of the season, killing 19 domestic runs and 50 RBI on 272/.324/.487.

Mead has played in 47 matches for rays this season, killing .225 with three domestic runs.

Mickel Garcia, the third basman of the Cances City, was selected to replace Lowe in the all-star game. Garcia currently ranks seventh in the American League with a .305 batting average. He has eight domestic runs, 18 theft and 40 RBI.
