
Indycar series leader Alex Palu won the first 12 race of the season for the seventh time, continuing his dominance in the farm to finish 275 in Newton, Iowa on Sunday.
Palu, who finished fifth on Saturday in the first two weekend races in the Iowa Speedway, also placed himself within the record of the series in the same season. This record is 10 shared by AJ Foyt (1964) and Al Unser (1970).
Al Anar Junior also won seven out of the first 12 races in 1994 and ended with eight wins that year.
“Avak, honestly,” Palu said in Vijay Lane. “It is an incredible day, an incredible weekend. More than anything, what is an incredible year for us.
“I can’t really believe it, honestly.”
On Sunday, he took a favorable break to win for Palu, when he led 194 out of 275 laps – Joseph won the two weekend races for Newguarden’s 232 laps and won by Pato O’Ward in Saturday’s race.
Palu was in third place behind Newguarden and David Malukas, which both came to fuel under the green flag in the final round of the pit. However, Palu remained out on the track. He was able to come to serve under yellow color when Colon Harta approached the backstream with a wall, causing a caution flag.
Palou ran the remaining 11 laps on the checked flag. Indianpolis 500 Champion has now completed the Indycar cycle, winning races on short ovaries such as street circuits, road courses, supersedes and iova speedways.
Scott Dixon was in second place, followed by Marcus Armstrong, Malukas and O’award. Newgarden reached 10th position.
Palu is looking for its third straight series title and fourth in five years. He leads the season point standing from 129 on the O’award.
Driver Nolan Seigel, who was ranked fifth for Sunday’s race, was not medically approved by a mild consent in an accident on 248 on Saturday race.
The Arrow McLaren Race Team decided not to run the number 6 Chevrolet on Sunday and said in a statement that the evaluation of 20 -year -old Seagal would continue before the race in Toronto in the next weekend.
Sagal finished 24th in the first race of Iowa Doubleheader.
