Alejandro Kirk scored a three-run domestic run in the sixth innings and Toronto Blue Jais defeated Tampa Bay Rez 3–1 on Wednesday night.
Kirk and Vladimir Gurro Jr. also made two hits in the three-game series to help the Blue Jais draw. Brandon Love made two hits for rays.
Chris Basit avoided trouble in the third hand when the Toronto was caught stealing the speedy Chandler Simpson and Lovs chased with a double.
Tampa Bay opened scoring with one run in the fourth. Basit released a leadoff walk to Jonathan Aranda, which was ranked second on the grounds of Christopher Morel. Morel again stole another and went to the Center Center Field of Catcher Kirk. Kamran Misner rubbed an RBI single to the right and doubled with Jose Cabellro’s left-field line.
The bass was able to limit losses when the Misnar was thrown at home by another basman Erni Clement on Travis Jankovsky’s grounder. Danny Jansen then bounced the pitcher to end the innings.
The Raz Right-Hand Ryan Pepriot (2-5) picked around two first-inning singles and did not allow another hit until Kirk led the fifth to the right to the right. Pepiot worked out of the innings after the Clement’s account single.
Basit hit the first two batsmen in the sixth before walking the cablero. He was replaced by Brendon Little (2–0), who played 1 1/3 innings. Basit went on strike on six in 5 2/3 innings, allowing seven hits and one run on two walks.
Gurero took a walk to open the bottom of the sixth. After two strikeouts, Dolton Varsho gave single to right. Kirk rushed to the right center at 0-2 fastball which was between the plate and above.
Pepiot completed six innings and conceded six hits with seven strikes and three runs on one walk.
Toronto’s Yaril Rodriguez threw an ideal eighth place and Yimi Garcia made a clean nineth part to earn his third savings.
The rays were not a hit after the fifth innings. After that point, only two of his runners came to a walk and an error.
