The course records at the Detroit Golf Club were threatened, tied and then topped the rocket classic on Thursday.
Debutant Australian star Min Wu Lee gave a 9-under-Burbar 63 card to match the record of the syllabus, when South Africa’s Aldrich Potgiator wrapped 10-under 62.
A few minutes after the completion of the Potgiator, Kevin Roy also signed for 62. He took a shot lead in the tournament on Friday.
By the end of the day, the old record looked like a game of child, as Mark Hubard and Max Greesman also ended with 63.
The Potgiator left for a white-hot start, with a 7-under 29 shooting at nine with five birdies and one eagle. They nos. In 1, 7 and 8, added the birdies and almost made it 61 with another Birdle at number 9 which missed the inch.
“I thought it was going in), I started walking after that,” said the potgiator. “But it was a good put, I am happy with it. And it was on a crest, so I did not know if it was left or right, so it was a bit unfortunate, but I will still take 62.”
Roy finished his round eagle-Burdie to match the number of potgiator. Roy pasted the Eagle to a 30 feet cross -5 in the 17th hole and then stuck his attitude to 18 numbers to install his final Birdi.
“One of those days was clicking everything,” Roy said. “A lot of fairways, a lot of greens, vessels are hot, bonus chip on 17 for the eagle.
