The Chamari Athapathu-led team has seen changes from the squad played against New Zealand, including the introduction of spinner Malki Madara, which receives its first call-up for the ODI team. Eight changes have been made to the squad, bring fresh faces and return the players to the mixture. Notable inclusion is Vishmi Gunaratne, Nilaki Silva, Hasini Perera, Pimi Wathasala, Devami Vihanga, Inoca Ranveera, and Hansima Karunratne. Malki Madara is one of the exciting possibilities affected during the T20I series in New Zealand, which has performed strong bowling.
