Aaron Ekblad of Panthers heard a hit on Brandon Hagel

The league announced on Tuesday that Florida Panthers Defenseman Aaron Ekblad will have a phone hearing on the phone following a hit by the head of Tampa Bay Lightning Forward Brandon Hagel with NHL player security department.

Ekblad was not given a whistle for a penalty on the drama during the second round of the panthers’ 4–2 victory over Lightning in Game 4 of the first round of his Eastern Conference on Monday night.

Ekblad returned to action for game 3 of the series on Saturday after a 20-game suspension to violate the NHL’s performance policy.

Hagel made a comeback even after a one-game ban on Panthers captain Alexander Barkov in Game 2. Hagel, however, did not return to game 4 after Ekblad’s hit.

29 -year -old Ekblad scored a goal and logged in game 4 on 22:11 of snow time.

Florida made Ekblad the number 1 overall pick in the 2014 NHL draft, and he spent his entire 11 -year career with a franchise. The injuries limited him to 51 regular-season games in 2023-24, but made him favorable for all 24 playoff games as the panthers won the first Stanley Cup in the team’s history.

In this season, Ekblad has played in 56 matches and prolonged 33 points (three goals, 30 support). He has played in 732 career games and scored 118 goals and 262 assistance, with five goals and 16 aid in 66 playoffs.
