‘A Deadly Welcome to IPL Champions’: Former World Cup winner Slam RCB Management | Cricket news

Former Indian cricket veteran Syed Kirmani expressed concern over the tragic death of 11 Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) fans during the victory ceremony at M Chinnaswamy Stadium. The incident occurred when local authorities failed to manage the voting on a large scale during the ceremony organized by the RCB management and the Government of Karnataka to honor the new crown IPL champion.Kirmani, who was part of India’s 1983 World Cup winning team, expressed his condolences to the bereaved families showing the changing nature of fan culture.Kirmani told India Today, “My condolences to the bereaved families. It was a fatal welcome to the IPL champion. In our time, there was no such media propaganda and there was no TV and there was no such thing that could give birth to such things.”Former wicketkeeper, who played 88 Tests for India, suggested that the festival could be planned better with proper arrangements.
“On that count, I think if RCB was waiting for 17 (18) years, whatever can happen to become champions and organizers, that things can be awaited for some time to settle and then a show can be organized for these great heroes of RCB.”Kirmani questioned whether similar fan enthusiasts would be shown for the victory of Karnataka’s possible Ranji Trophy, which highlights the development of cricket.Who is that IPL player?“Fans of our Times were not crazy like today’s fans and especially in IPL, crazy fans are particularly unimaginable because you can see that lacquer and million people were around to get a glimpse of these great heroes.”Stamped caused the unfortunate loss of life in the stadium, as a result of the unrestricted large crowd gathering to celebrate RCB’s championship victory.
