With the closure of the airport, Mi vs PBKS IPL Clash is likely to change venue in Dharamshala




Following the teams to travel by teams after the temporary closure of the Hill Town airport, the IPL match between Mumbai Indians and Punjab Kings was shifted to Mumbai to be held on Sunday after team’s travel plans. Dharamsala airport has been closed indefinitely as a precautionary measure after India’s missile strike on Pakistan to end the terrorist infrastructure in view of the Pahgam terror attack. A BCCI source told PTI, “There is a high probability that the match will be shifted to Mumbai in the event of the airport closure.”

Dharamasala is due to hosting the Punjab Kings vs Delhi Capital Conflict on Thursday and the game will move forward as both teams have touched the base.

A source in the Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association told PTI, “We have not received any written information from BCCI, or Central and State Governments.

The second house of the picturesque city of Punjab is Aadhaar.

“We have not yet been told about the site change. We are waiting for the BCCI to hear from the BCCI,” a Punjab Kings official said.

Delhi has very little time to detect their logistics as players have to return to the national capital for their next game, against Gujarat Titans, which is also on Sunday. They could go back to the road after the match.

A BCCI source told PTI, “Everything is liquid at this time. Discussions are going on with the franchise and they are also discussing internal what are the options to travel from Dharmasala to Delhi in the event of airport closure.”

He said, “An alternative (for Delhi Capital) is just a trip, but then it is not only about the teams but also about the broadcast crew and equipment. It is a developed position,” he said.

India carried out accurate attacks in nine places in Pakistan and Pakistan captured Jammu and Kashmir in vengeance of the Pahgam terror attack, killing 26 people, mostly tourists.

At least 18 airports in the northern and western parts of the country have been temporarily closed due to military growth. These include Srinagar, Leh, Jammu, Amritsar, Pathankot, Chandigarh, Jodhpur, Jaisalmer, Shimla, Dharamshala and Jamnagar.

Chandigarh, which is the nearest alternative airport to Dharmasala, is currently among the closed people for operation.

In the pre-Match press conference before yesterday’s clash, Punjab Kings Spin bowling coach Sunil Joshi said, “We are following the BCCI protocol. And whatever the BCCI recommended us, the team management will work on it.” Delhi Capital coach Hemung Badani said that his team would be suited to the challenge.

“As cricketers and as part of the cricket environment, we are used for challenges, we are used to navigate and adopt as we go.

He said, “We have great confidence to guide us in BCCI and IPL Governing Council and give us the right instructions. And as a side, we just adapt and move forward,” he said.
