Rishabh Pant cut a disintegrated figure as Lucknow super veterans shot their IPL 2025 playoff hopes on Sunday. Facing the Punjab kings in Dharmasala, LSG slipped to 7th position in the table of the points for a loss of 37 runs. Rishabh Pant himself continued to struggle, but on Sunday shifted the defect in LSG bowling and fielding. ,
A lot of runs, dropped catch hurt us badly- Rishabh Pant
After 10 matches, Rishabh Pant has scored only 117 runs, scoring in less than a run. Chasing a huge 237, the pants failed to show once again. A 27-year-old tedious 17-gent managed to score 18, and slipped his team into mud. Eventually, his side settled for a loss of 37 runs, thanks to the heroes of Ayush Badoni some time.
The pants later addressed PBKS vs. LSG, stressed and nervous. The LSG skipper saw disappointed and admitted that his side scored a lot of runs in Dharamasala on Sunday. We thought it would be more, but we did not choose the length in the beginning. But it is part and parcel. If we can win the next three matches, we can definitely roam and do amazing things.”
Self-confidence and a change of batting order on the card?
Lucknow Super Veterans have won only 1 of their last 5 matches and are now in strict straight. Rishabh Pant and Sah need to win the remaining three games to get a chance to qualify for the playoffs. While Pamnt accepts its side and draws a change in the batting order together, it may be possible. Ayush Badoni has been his best batsman in the last few matches, while the top order has just dropped out.
Rishabh’s own form is a reason for anxiety and tried to open the batting, playing on 4 and playing finisher: none of whom have clicked. The LSG captain, however, supported his openers and said that he and others in the middle order also need to put pressure on.
“Every match, you can’t expect to come out of them. It is part of the game, we have to take it deep sometimes. We had a lot of runs to catch and hurt us badly,” Pant said.
LSG now returns home to face Royal Challengers Bangalore, who has won all his distance games in IPL 2025. They then travel to Ahmedabad to face the playoffs chasing Gujarat Titans before Ander, a season against Sunrisers at home.
