Former Indian cricket team batter Sanjay Manjrekar said that the success of Royal Challengers Bangalore in the ongoing IPL 2025 can be held responsible for teamwork and not any personal talent. In his column for Hindustan Times, Manjrekar wrote that the winners of the match in RCB had six different players – a fact that proves that he has clicked as a team. In the past, RCB has depended on large -scale names such as Virat Kohli, AB de Villiers and Chris Gayle. However, even Virat performed brilliantly this year, Manjrekar wrote that his team work is a great sign.
“For the beginning, in seven wins so far, RCB had six different players, who meet as players with Krunal Pandya twice. Originally, RCB had many different heroes through the season and it is always a great sign to see in a team; a team that does not depend on a couple’s matches.”
“Personal talent may win some matches to you, but you need a variety of talent through different sources to win continuously. As it is in other formats, it is a bowling attack that separates a team; yes, batting is important, but this time RCB’s bowling unit has been in the top form,” he said.
Manjrekar found himself in a little controversy for his comments at Virat’s strike rate and as a result Virat’s brother – Vikas – was digging on him on social media. The former India Star doubled on his analysis and said that although the media praises the batsmen, RCB bowlers have been the real heroes.
“Our media focuses a lot on the batter, but this is another case where batsmen are in the spotlight, but these are bowlers who get points. Crunal Pandya has been a two -time match player for RCB this season, but how many times he has made in the headlines or has a basket in the border?”
