Suryakumar Yadav returned at his 360 degree best, 26 balls against CSK fifty

This is the second fifty of Suryakumar Yadav in the IPL 2025 season.
Suryakumar Yadav is back! The current Indian T20I captain has been out of form for quite some time. And he entered the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 in the same bad patch of form. But slowly but surely, he’s returned to form. Suryakumar’s lowest score for the Mumbai Indians (MI) has been 26 this season.
Suryakumar Yadav shows his range against CSK
But even some of his early innings were sluggish. SKY looked rusty quite a few times. But he seems to be back at his best. Against the Chennai Super Kings (CSK), the 360-degree batter showed his vast range of shots. This was something he lacked when out of form.
Against CSK, he was hitting sweeps everywhere on the leg side. Be it mid-wicket, deep square leg, or even the fine leg region. But that wasn’t it. Suryakumar also pulled out an over the covers against Ravindra Jadeja. This shot was something that was missing from the last 9 months or so. But now it’s back, and so is Suryakumar Yadav.
The reason why his spin play was important was because out of the 50 runs that Suryakumar scored, 49 had come against the spinners. In total, out of the 68 runs that he scored, 55 came against Ravichandran Ashwin, Noor Ahmad, and Jadeja. That’s pretty rare. And it’s the first time he’s scored over 40 runs against spinners in a single IPL innings.
