Sanju Samson Rib Cage provides updates after pain RR Star retired retiring injury DC: “It seems …”

In a dramatic finish at Arun Jaitley Stadium on Wednesday, Mitchell Starc’s talent in the final pushed a conflict between Rajasthan Royals (RR) and Delhi Capital (DC) in the first super over of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025, where the hosts won in a high-entry thriller. Chasing a minor target, Rajasthan Royals needed just nine runs from the final over, but Stark, showing why he is considered one of the best in the world, gave a masterclass under pressure. Keeping only eight runs, he took the game to a super over, where the speed was decisively transferred to Delhi’s favor.
RR captain Sanju Samson started at a strong position and scored 31 runs from only 19 balls (3x6s and 2x4s), but had to sit out after the innings due to injury, addressing the match after his fitness. DC bowler Vipraj Nigam was afraid of injury during the sixth over of the RR innings, when he felt pain in his ribs and retired.
“It seems fine (her injury). I was not just ready to come back and bat. It seems right now. We will see it tomorrow and see how it is,” he said.
Referring to the game, RR captain Sanju Samson praised Stark winning performance.
Samson said, “I think as we all saw, some great bowling by stars. He is one of the best people in the world. I would like to give it to Starcie. He won the game in the 20th over.”
In the super over, Rajasthan Royals scored 11 runs, set a target of 12 for DC, and Stark was also economical there. Sandeep Sharma took charge with the ball for RR, while KL Rahul and Triston Stabs came out to chase the capitals. Both of them wasted some time, chasing only four delivery to seal the victory.
Despite the loss, Samson appreciated his team’s overall performance.
He said, “We bowled well. When we got strict when they were strict. I would like to give credit to my bowlers and fielders. Energy on the ground was fantastic,” he said.
He also believed that the match was well within his reach.
He said, “I felt the score was given a batting lineup which we had. The beginning we found in the powerplay. I felt that it was a score -able score,” he said.
Samson had a special word for Pesar Sandeep Sharma, which bowled super over for Rajasthan.
“I think Sandeep has been bowling the most difficult overs for us over the years. Starcie removed it,” he accepted.
He said, “Today a win can create some positivity in the dressing room.”
