England have recalled 35 -year -old Liam Dawson that to replace the injured Shoaib Bashir, who has been dropped from the test series after maintaining a broken finger during a 22 -run win over India at Lord’s in the third Test.England are moving the five-match Test series 2–1. The fourth Test will be played at Old Trafford, Manchester starting on July 23.Left-arm spinner Dawson last played a Test for England in July 2017. He has been a consistent artist for Hampshire over the years and was named PCA Player of the Year in both 2023 and 2024.“Liam Dawson is entitled to his call-up. He is excellent in the County Championship and continuously perform strong for Hampshire,” said England’s men’s national selector Luke Wright said.Dawson has played only three Tests in 2016 and 2017, but has 371 first -class wickets to go with 18 centuries.
