Mumbai Indians (MI) have won their 13th trophy in franchise leagues. Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) has roped in a new coach. And we have a major Asia Cup update.

Jadeja almost scripts history
It just wasn’t to be. India’s tail wagged like never before as Ravindra Jadeja played one of the best innings of his life. But the game ended cruelly, as after a perfect defence from Mohammed Siraj, the ball rolled onto the stumps—a 22-run defeat at Lord’s. English players consoled Siraj and Jadeja, showing respect for their monumental effort.

BCCI gets Asia Cup nod
Sports Minister Mansukh Mandaviya has confirmed that the Indian government has no issues with playing international events with Pakistan but there will be no bilateral sports between the two nations. The BCCI was awaiting a response from the ACC regarding their participation in the Asia Cup 2025. And now they have one. Read more here.

Siraj punished by ICC
Mohammed Siraj has been fined 15% of his match fee for the Lord’s Test for breaching Article 2.5 of the ICC’s Code of Conduct for his celebrations after getting Ben Duckett’s wicket. Siraj has also been handed a demerit point, which marks his second in the period of 24 months. If he gets 4 demerit points, he can be banned for one Test or two one-ball matches.

Why India lost as per Shubman Gill
After losing at Lord’s by 22 runs, India’s captain Shubman Gill has shared his thoughts on where the visitors lost the match. Gill stated that in an ideal scenario, India should have gotten an 80-100 run lead. Chasing anything over 150 won’t have been easy and if they had a lead, they might have been chasing just 100. He also thought the batting at the end of Day 4 wasn’t great from India’s batters, including him.

SRH’s new bowling coach for IPL 2026
SRH have brought in Varun Aaron as their pace bowling coach for the IPL 2026 season. The former Indian pacer replaces New Zealand’s James Franklin, who was roped in last season as a replacement for Dale Steyn. This will be Aaron’s first stint as a coach of any team since his retirement from international cricket in January.

MI New York wins MLC 2025
The Mumbai Indians continue to win. If not in IPL, then at MLC. This is MI’s 13th trophy win across franchise leagues, both men’s and women’s. Having finished 4th on the points table with 3 wins in 10 matches in the group stage, MI New York won three consecutive matches to lift the MLC 2025 trophy.
