Sonoma, California. – For the second straight weekend, Shane Van Gisbergen dominated the NASCAR Time Trial – and did so.

On Saturday, the New Zosender became the only driver at the top of 96 mph at the top of his second lap, the New Josender 1.99-mile, on the 12-turn road course.

Visiting the circuit at 74.594 seconds (96.040 mph), Van Gisbergen achieved the position of poll for Sunday’s Toyota/Save Mart 350 NASCAR Cup series race (3:30 pm TNT, PRN and Siriusxm NASCAR Radio).

Van Gisbergen defeated the second -place qualifier Chase Brisco (95.719 mph) for 0.25 seconds to claim his first Bush Light Pol Award in Sonoma, third of the season and fourth of his career.

His poll-winning run on Friday for the race for the NASCAR XFINITY series in Sonoma followed the top qualifying attempt on Friday. Over the last weekend on the Chicago Street course, Van Gisbergen swept the poles and races in both series.

Qualifying in Group B, SVG raised the speed ranging from 74.833 seconds to 74.594 to 74.594 seconds in its second lap.

“I felt it could happen faster,” Van Gisbergen said, who won the previous season’s exfinity race in Sonoma, but will make his first start in a cup car here. “And then in the first group, we saw big benefits from people in our second run. I think 24 (third -place qualifier William Bayran) made a big jump, which is very unusual, I think, on these tires, especially this new soft tires.

“My first lap was almost a banker. The second lap was really good.”

Biren navigated the course at a speed of 95.488 mph to claim the third place on the grid. Ross Chastain was at fourth place at a speed of 95.409 mph, followed by AJ Alamedinger (95.367 mph) and Tye Gibs (95.357 mph).

Ryan Blanne, Tyler Radic, Alex Bowman and Christopher Bell claimed the sixth through the 10th starting spot respectively.

The drivers faced in the third round of these-season challenges are as follows: Gibbs, Sixth vs Zen Smith, 12th; Boman, ninth vs. tie dill, 26th; John Hunter Nemchek, 18th vs Legacy Motor Club team partner Eric Jones, 31st; And radic, eighth vs Ryan Pris, 20th.

The NASCAR Cup series playoffs may be more concerned with the position of the 30th place starter Bubba Wallace below the current elimination line for a berth in the playoffs, which is two points above the cut line with a seven race left in the regular session.

Catherine Leg, who finished 19th in the Chicago Street Course last Sunday, did not attempt a qualification and will start in 37th position.
