
Julian Cash and Lloyd Glasspool became the British men before 1936 to win the men’s doubles championship in Wimbledon on Saturday.
The two won the All England Club Trophy with their 6–2, 7-6 (3) Australia’s Rinke Hijikata and the Netherlands’s David Pail.
The fifth seed in London, Cash and GlassPool also won the Queen Club and Eastborne two of their recent tournaments.
Pat Hughes and Raymond Taki defeated their partner Brits Charles Hare and Frank Wilde, the last 89 years ago.
