Patrick Reid accepted the ‘Battle up’ to create a rider cup team

Even with the surname “Captain America”, Patrick Reid knows that he is a longshot to form a US Rider Cup team as a competitor on the live golf circuit.
“I think it all comes down in the open next week,” Reid on Thursday said before the Live Golf Andalusia event at the real club Walderma in Sotogrande, Spain.
The 34 -year -old Reid, currently sits at number 36 in the US Rider Cup points standing, only counts the performance of live golfers in Major. Former Masters Champions finished third in Augusta and third in the US Open, but the PGA missed out on cutting the championship.
In the last three Rider Cup performances in 2016, 2018 and 2021, Reid posted a stellar 7-2 record.
“This is a difficult to respond,” Reid said that when we were asked about Captain Keagan Bradley’s 12-man team for the September Shodown in New York’s Bethpage Black.
“… In fact, in the next few weeks I have to play some concrete golf, go out and choose on Sunday, have a chance to win a golf tournament, and if I do so, hopefully Keagan chooses me.
“The good thing is that I think I’m in a good place right now, as long as I go out and play well in the last head.”
Reid is coming out of its first live golf title in Dallas last month. The 4ACES GC member is fourth in the individual season standing.
Reid’s best finish was 10th in 2019 at the open championship. The last head of this year began next Thursday at Royal Portrash, Northern Ireland.
