Former NFL execution Tim Roney, nephews of the founder of the Steelers, die on 84

The nephew of Art Runi Senior, the founder of Pittsburgh Steelers, Long NFL’s executive Tim Runi died on Tuesday morning after battling cancer. He was 84 years old.
Tim Roney, a former coach from Wilnova, included Steellers as a scout before becoming his director of Pro Scouting in 1972. As reported by Pittsburgh Post-Gajat, he was credited with the drafting of the Hall of Fame Linebacker Jack Lambert after escorting the then coach Chak Khal to see Lambart in Kent State.
After leaving Steellers to join Detroit Lions in 1979, Roney was hired in 1985 as a director of Pro personnel by New York veterans. He remained in that role till 1999 and later returned to a part -time position.
Everyone said, Roney was part of six super bowl winning teams.
“He was a great man,” Hall of Fame head coach Bill Parcel told The Post-Gajat. “When you are a head coach, you need to tell someone the truth. Tim was our pro -personnel man, and it was his job.
“We used to talk about the roster every day talking daily. We had a lot of conversations and became closer. It increased our relationship. They understood me, and I understood them.”
