Shane McClahan produced “Pro Prayer” at First Rehab Start

Two-time all-stars and Tampa Bay rays began Pitcher Shane McClanhan, who returned to the mound for the first time after spring training and worked in a hitless inning on Tuesday in a Florida Complex League game.

The 28 -year -old Southpow faced four batsmen, one fanning and one walked one in their first step in the direction of pitching in Major after August 2023.

After recollecting the entire 2024 campaign, McClan was slated to start a 2025 season’s rage opener after recollecting the entire 2024 campaign. But in his last action of spring, he faced an inflammatory nerve in his left triceps and was kept in the injured list.

Raz’s manager Kevin Cash Assistant Pitching and Rehab Coach Rick Kannap were in touch and received positive reports.

“He went there, controlled himself. He was excited to get out and face the hits,” Cash said about McClanon’s outing, which Kannap classified as a ‘a very supporting attempt’.

“I read forward and back with Mac, and I think (this) was a big first step for him.”

McClahan was the 31st overall selection in the Major League baseball draft of 2018. He started with rays at the 2020 American League Division Series vs The Yankis.

McClanhan formed all-star teams in 2022 and 2023. In 2022, he posted 2.54 ERA and 194 strikeouts in 166 1/3 innings. He left for a spectacular start in 2023, recorded 11-2 records with 121 K in 115 innings, but went to the injured list on August 12 and surgery later that month.
