The Guntalet: PMWC 2025 schedule

PMWC 2025 is ready to appear in several intensive days from 25 July to August 3, 2025. Here is a detailed schedule:

Group Phase: 25 July – 27, 2025

• 24 teams will be divided into 3 groups of 8.
• There will be 6 matches in each day, there will be a total of 18 matches in this phase.
• Each group will play 12 matches in total.
• The top 8 teams of the overall group stage standing will proceed directly to the Grand Finals.
• The remaining 16 teams will move forward in the survival phase.

Survision Phase: 29 July – 30, 2025

• 16 teams of group stage which were not directly eligible will compete here.
• The top 8 teams of the survival phase will earn their spots in the grand final.
• The lower 8 teams will have to face elimination of the tournament.

Grand Final: 1 August – 3, 2025

• Last performance! 16 teams will clash: top 8 from group stage and top 8 from survival stage.
• Similar to the group stage, 18 matches will be played in these three days, each day with 6 matches.
• An important rule change for the final day of the Grand Final (Day 3): Smash Rules will be implemented!

Engagement Rules: Format and Points

PMWC 2025 appoints a well -defined format and number system to ensure fair and competitive game:

Match ranking points distribution:

• Abolition points: 1 digit per elimination.
• Placement points:
• First place: 10 digits
• Second place: 6 digits
• Third place: 5 digits
• 4th place: 4 digits
• 5th place: 3 digits
• 6th place: 2 digits
• 7th – 8th position: 1 point
• 9th – 16th position: 0 marks

Match ranking tie-breaking order:

In the case of a tie in total points, the following criteria will be used to determine the ranking:

• The total number of winning chicken dinner (wwcds) in all matches.
• Total number of placement points in all matches.
• Total number of termination points in all matches.
• The best placement ranking in the most recent match.

PMWC 2025 Smash Rules (Grand Final Day 3):

The smash rule adds an additional layer of enthusiasm and strategic depth on the final day of the Grand Final. While full details are usually close to the event, historically, the smash rule often means that once a team reaches a certain “match point threshold”, they become “match points”. After reaching this extent, the first “match point character” team to secure the chicken dinner was crowned as the champion. If any team does not have chicken dinner after the match becomes a match point within a fixed number of the match, then the team with the highest overall -digit will win. This rule ensures that the last day keeps bite the nails till the last moment!
