IND vs Eng: Michael Atherton slammed Ben Stokes after 2 Test defeat, it is called ‘One-Format Player’ cricket news

Former England captain Michael Attarton has raised serious questions about the decline and leadership as Ben Stokes’s batting, especially after India’s huge defeat in the second Test in Edgbaston. Till now, stokes captaincy, saying “Sternst Test”, Attart has highlighted how the all -rounder’s batting returns have been dipped with each passing year since handling the return. Attarton wrote in his column for the Times, “To add back-to-back matches problems, a little rest, a heavy defeat and bad decision with the bat is his own form, in which the job has declined every year.” The third Test at Lord’s would be two years old, as Stokes last included a Test, which was against Australia in Ashes. Attarton believes that their current position, playing just a format from the choice, reduces them at a significant time. “As a dedicated one-format player, who does not play too much cricket outside the tests-sometimes in his own agreement-stokes is in an aggressive position of rhythm and lack of form, when he needs to lead from the front,” Attarton said.
Dressing a contrast, Atherton praised Indian captain Shubman Gill for his composition and technology against spin. “While Stokes has seen unstable against spin, their opposite number is loading it. Gill’s return in this series has been very high and victory in Edgbaston was inspired by his vision, determination and single-mind. “England plan to target Gill quickly, by running the ball back in his pad, but it doesn’t look like exiting. After Edgbaston, Gill’s tiredness will be completely different for Stokes.” On the bowling front of England, Atitrat called for further changes to the Lord’s test. He supported the inclusion of Joffra Archer and Gas Atkinson despite his limited red-ball workloads in recent times. “Apparently speed attack needs to be fresh. When SOS went to Archer in Lord’s in 2019, as a way to stop Steve Smith, the fast bowler was at the top of his game, despite that the Test cricket was not played. Would it be good as before? Will he play his best for a five-day game in four years.,

Attarton also highlighted Atkinson’s record at the venue. “Gas Atkinson has a tremendous record in Lord’s with a ball and bat, but has not been played since to have his hamstring twinkle against Zimbabwe. The pair represents a gambling with Archer, but if taken (one must assume that they are selected in the squad) that means the third seamor should be prepared for a long time.” He said that Chris Woakes, despite his history in Lord’s, is a poor chain. “Still (Chris) Woakes, who also has a great record in Lord’s, is 36 years old and has taken three wickets in 96 in this series. His potential replacement, Sam Cook, was unrelated to his only test,” Attarton said. Despite the challenges, Atherit urged to take precautions on reactive changes. “A nervous changes are rarely the way to go after defeat. I will believe with batting and freshen the seam attack, I will bring in Archer and Atkinson for Josh Tongue and Bridan Cars. Now, however, you don’t want to live in Gill’s shoes.
