After SEC Visit, 4-star WR Xavier McDonald’s Sacramento State Pixs

Sacramento State head coach Brannon Marion arrived in the South-Eastern Conference area and stopped a surprising commitment from four star wide receiver Xavier McDonald.

McDonald, Morton, Miss., Hornets is the most committed in the history of the program. He committed to school on Friday.

McDonald’s had offers from several power for conference schools, and on 27 June, he released the list of his last four: Sacramento State, North Carolina, LSU and Ole Miss. He took official trips to three of them, which replaced the Mississippi state trip for a northern Carolina visit.

The 247Sports Composite ranks him as the number 16 comprehensive receiver in the country.

The aggressive-minded Marion was named the December head coach after two sessions last December.

The state of Sacramento is in the midst of upgradation of its athletic program. It is constructing a multipurpose stadium and has obtained more than $ 35 million in Nill funding. Hornets has added former Sacramento King player Mike Bibbi as his basketball coach and a member of the Basketball Hall of Fame Shakeel O’Neel as General Manager.

Sacramento State Football is an FCS-level program that plays at the Big Sky Conference. During the 2026–27 academic session, all teams except football will go to the Big Waste Conference.

According to the 247Sports Samagra, the state has number 56 recruitment class of 2026 in the state of Sacramento, which is a sandwich between SEC’s South Carolina and Vake Forest of Atlantic Coast Conference.
