Two -time champion Pit Alonso of New York Met’s said on Sunday that he would not participate in the Home Run Darby in Atlanta this year.
Alonso won the popular event held a day before the all-star game in 2019 and 2021. He was a partner in each to be held in the last five times.
Alonso told reporters on Sunday of the July 14 program, “I decided not to do so this year.” “I have not really enjoyed the three off-dase completely, so I just want to be in the best position to help this team win in the second half.
“I am in a drain with some things. I will definitely do it again. This does not mean not forever.
Alonso was selected to play in the all-star game for the fifth time. He is batting with 20 Homeers and 73 RBI in 91 sports.
Philadelphia Phillies Slugger Kyle Schwarber also said on Sunday that he would not be a part of the darby. He participated in 2018 and 2022.
This is a good bet, Schwarber will be strongly considering being part of the competition next year when all-star games and home run darby are held in Philadelphia.
“I am not going to do a home run,” Schwarber said on Sunday of the 2025 incident. “Maybe see what happens next year.”
Schwarber was named the All-Star team for the third time in his career on Sunday. He is batting with 27 Homer and 63 RBI .251 in 90 sports.
Other players are expected to pass in the event, Aaron Judge of New York Yankis and Shohi Ohtani of Los Angeles Dojers.
There are only three confirmed participants for a week with home run -darby – Seattle Meriners Star Cal Rale (35 Homer), Emerging Washington National Slogger James Wood (23) and Atlanta Braves Standout Ronald Akuna Junior, who have ACL injury, who have nine homes in 40 sports since around 12 months.
