Shubman Gill, Gautam Gambhir closed critics with victory over England

“It’s very easy when you lose, you blame the captain and say, oh, he goes missing. And when you win, you go, Oh, he is a great captain.“But I think, just looking from top, which we often do in a commentary box – in a headingley game, had a lot of input from a lot of people.“This was the one who is in charge? You see below today and he was in charge. And the camera often went on it and he was moving the fielder here and there. He said, “They still need Rishabh Pant and KL Rahul or whatever help. But he appeared in charge.”Hussain also told Gill’s quiet performance.“He is always calm and composed,” he said.“You just listen to that interview. He has got very little heartbeat. So he is not the character of Kohli-type.“He is a low heartbeat, but this can help. You may need anyone to calm the team. He did some subtle things that we will not do.“Akash deep bowled beautifully from this end. This morning, we thought he was going to start from this end. He started it at the other end and did it. So he also had strategic things that actually worked in the game.“Most important thing: Get the run. This is his number one job and he has got a shed load of the run.”
