No. 1 Aryana Sabalenka reaches the 11th direct quarter -finals in Wimbledon

Top seed Aryana Sabalenka gave a challenge to Elis Mortance, defeating 24th seeded Belgium 6-4, 7-6 (4) on Sunday to go to the quarter-finals in Wimbledon.

The Sabalenka was briefly trapped 3–1 in the second set after a martens break, but returned to the brake to pull back to the grass court in London.

“I always thought that I was not quite good on the grass, so it is incredible for me,” said Pawalichenkova. “Especially with my growing up, I am very impressed and proud to compete with little girls.”

“My mental cruelty is getting better,” he continued. “I am learning to fight the point.”

In the next round, Paviluchenkova will meet the winner of the last match of the day between Amanda Amanda Anisimova, No. 13 Seed and Czech Linda Noskova, which is at number 30.
