Randy Arozrena did homeing and George Kirbi dropped Paul Scans as Seattle Meriners defeated Pittsburgh Pirates 1-0 on Sunday afternoon.

The Pirates also vacated Pittsburgh in all three matches of the Interlaylag series after doing the same against St. Louis. This was the first time in Major League history when a team did not allow a run in the three-game series and then failed to score in the following three-market sets. This was the first time the Pirates did not score in the three-game series against Millvauki Braves since 1959.

It also marked the first time to win three consecutive games through a shutout in the franchise history of Seattle.

Arzrena left the Pirates Relief Carmen Molodzinsky (2-6) with two outsider at the bottom of the sixth. It was the sixth homer of Arzrena on the seven-game homestand of Mariners, on which they moved forward 5-2.

The anticipated pitching duality between Scan and Kirby did not disappoint.

Scan, National League Ruki of the Year, played five scorer innings and allowed five hits. Wright-Hand hit season-high 10 without walking. Sken threw 78 pitches, 52 for strikes.

This was the beginning of the third consecutive scan in which the pirates failed to score during the game.

Kirby (3-4), a former all-star, who missed the right shoulder swelling for the first two months of the season, went into the 6 1/3 scorer innings and gave four hits. He did not run a batsman and washed nine. 66 of his 93 pitches were attacks.

Carlos Vargas finished seventh, Gab Spear hit all the three batsmen faced in the eighth and Andres Munose did ninth work for his 21st Save of the season.

Meriners almost abandoned the scanses in the first innings. Leadoff Hitter JP Crawford stood the first pitch in the right-center field and later, Cal Rale hit a pitch. George Polesco opened a single to left-center, but the Pirates Center Fielder Vanil Cruz opened a throw of 105.2-mile per hour, which took Henry Davis a hop to catch Nabak Crawford in a plate. This was the second most difficult throw by an outfielder as Statecast began to monitor him in 2020.
