Lionel Messi on Saturday scored twice to help Inter Miami to win 4–1 against host CF Montreal.
Miami (9-3-5, 32 points), playing his first MLS match in more than a month, won three directly.
Prince Ovsu scored a single goal for Montreal (3–13–5, 14 points), who won two of his last three.
Owusu gave Montreal a 1-0 lead in the second minute. Messi missed in a nearby attempt and an open Ovsu collected the ball at the top of the box before going on the back of the net through goalkeeper Oscar Ustari’s feet.
Miami went more than 10 minutes before registering her first shot attempt, but once it finally did it, it could not beat Montreal’s Jonathan Sirois. He took his hands up to reject visitors from a corner in the 13th minute and got his fingers after two minutes.
Jordan Alba gave it a chance to send and send it out correctly.
