Atlanta, DC United settle for a draw to expand the winner drought

DC United and Visiting Atlanta United extended each to four matches after Saturday’s 0–0 draw.

DC (4–10–7, 19 digits) stands in front of Atlanta (4–10–6, 18 digits) in the standing, although the DC United Final Eastern Conference is nine points behind the Chicago Fire for the Playoff Spot. DC and Atlanta are both 0-3–1 in their last four matches.

Five strips captured 57.6 percent, but DC gained 8–7 lead in shots.

Goalkeeper Louis Baraza and Brad Guzan had to make only one save apps to earn clean -soothing sheets. This was the third shutout of Bairaza season, and the second for Atlanta captain Gujan.

Despite the lack of attack, both clubs required solid defensive performance. DC and Atlanta goals have each of the league leaders that are allowed (DC 39, Atlanta 37).

Star Forward Christian Bentke had two off-forward shots in his return to the DC starting lineup, including a decent header who went on the net in the 26th minute. After remembering six matches due to an ankle injury, Bentke played 28 minutes as an option to lose Nashville SC 1–0 on DC United last Saturday.

The presence of Bentke cannot throw the lack of crime of DC United. Austin FC (15 goals) is the only MLS club, which is less than DC’s 17 goals in this season.

Atlanta is 6-1-2 in its previous nine regular sessions meetings with United DC United. That major recent history includes an unbeaten 3–0-2 record for five strips in DC’s Audi Field.

Draw also extended the Vinless Road record of Atlanta during the 2025 campaign. Atlanta United is 0-7-3 in 10 distant matches, and the only Eastern Conference is clubs to win on the road this season.

In a quiet night of the crime, the best scoring chance came seven minutes after the opening whistle. DC midfielder Konner Estley exploded a large shot from the corner of the box that removes the crossbar.
