India coach looks deeply to Akash to follow “Golden Rule” in England

India’s bowling coach Morne Morkel wants
India cricket team bowling coach Morne Morkel is very pleased with how Akash Deep has been bowling in the ongoing ENG vs IND 2nd Test. The pacer returned to the playing XI in Birmingham after sitting out of the Leeds Test and he made an instant impact. Akash finished with 4 wickets in the 1st innings and is en route to finish with another four-wicket hail in the 2nd as well.
Morkel heaps praise on Akash Deep
On day 4, Akash bowled a magical delivery to castle Joe Root for just 6 runs. Speaking about that wicket, Morkel told reporters in a press conference that the bowler was following the “golden rule” in England to the T – which is asking questions on the stumps.
“He is an attacking bowler that asks questions, bowling at the stumps a lot. I think that’s one of the golden rules here in England: asking questions on the stumps. So for these sort of conditions in the UK, it suits his style. And coming back from injury and seeing him running in with high pace, it’s a nice sign for us,” Morkel said.
Akash’s first victim in the second innings was Ben Duckett, who was also dismissed in a fashion very similar to that of Root. Morkel hoped that Akash Deep could replicate his deliveries from Day 4 on the final day and pick at least a couple of wickets more.
“That was a dream delivery… top quality player Joe Root and to dismiss him in that fashion just shows the quality of Akash, what he can do. I think he is also a guy like all of us. The more confidence you give him, almost like there’s a little bit more energy behind the ball and hopefully that delivery he will play over in his phone tonight, and then bring a couple more of those tomorrow,” he added.
