Andrew Poonam withdrew from John Deere Classic Midway due to a back injury through the second round of Friday.
The 36-year-old Putnam started the back nine and gave a double-boy card in Par-4 18th Hole before pulling out.
He had a 3-over for his round for his round after opening with an up-by-71 in Silvis, Il in TPC Deere on Thursday.
Putam won his loan PGA Tour title at the 2018 Barakuda Championship. His best finish in this season was a T6 at the RBC Canadian Open last month.
